Proposal (June 2018) & Wedding (Dec 2020)

I proposed to Erika in late June, 2018 on Vancouver Island (near Erika’s favorite city), and she gratefully accepted.   We were initially considering a wedding in early 2020 in Hawaii. However, due to the pandemic, we postponed and significantly shrunk our plans ..and finally committed our love on the incredibly scenic beaches (ie the ‘Wedding Bowl’) of La Jolla in late Dec., 2020. 

Though it was only the 4 of us (including Riley!), it was a very special memory and the incredible picture from our photographer tell the story visually: 



(Probably the most revealing of the photos is the one above.  Quick summary -- shortly after starting to share our wedding vows, Kira became very restless.  The only way to calm her down at times is with milk and iPad, so we had that ready ..and the cameraman caught this angle to bring the true story to life)

Global wedding celebration tour & wedding gift opportunity As our wedding was during the middle of the pandemic, we were not able to invite many of our loved ones to join us, so made tentative plans to take our wedding celebration on a global tour!  ..which is only natural for 2 global ex-pats.  Our first chapter of these celebration plans are with all of you in July, 2021.   As a second chapter, we plan to visit Japan, where Erika was born, and where her family still lives.  We have tentative plans to visit Tokyo this October, which is a great time to be in the land of the Rising sun.  While in the land of the Rising Sun, we will celebrate with Erika’s mother, sister, and brother’s family, along with a few of her close friends.  I also have a few friends in the area from 3 year assignment there, so will ask them to join.   For our honeymoon, Erika and I have always dreamed of traveling to a few romantic places in the Mediterranean -- sou...
